06 Nov 11 OSIM uSqueez Warm Pro Leg Massager On Review

Recently, when checking for foot massagers we were highly impressed by the performance of the OSIM uSqueez. The uSqueez Warm provided so enjoyable a massage that we wanted it to go beyond fifteen minutes! As far as soothing of feet was concerned, it certainly performed as per the advertisement.

On going through the handbill of the product, I realized that uSqueez delivers a feel good massage due to a combination of these four functions:
* Heat – Heat does make a difference and gives a soothing spa feel during the process of massage. The handbill also points out that heat goes to dilate blood vessels, resulting to increased flow of oxygen and nutrients to your feet. It’s believed that heat also washes down lactic acid.
* Roller Massage – The function of rollers is to reproduce the performance of a foot reflexologist. Foot reflexology is considered good for overall health.
* Squeeze Massage – Your ankles, calves and feet are all together squeezed by kneading discs. There are three programs available to choose from. For recharging of tired feet, use program I, for overall well being use program II that stimulates acupressure points and program III provides relief from muscular pain and ache.
* Vibration Massage – Here again, you get three options for varying the intensity that may be auto, high or low. The manufacturer claims that vibrations help to excite acupressure points and advance blood circulation and rids the body of toxins.
You can use these functions independently or in combination to get a total of 25 massage options.

Few User Tips

Here are some of the useful tips gathered from the staff of OSIM at one of the outlets:
* Position your chair seat at a higher level than the top of the leg massager.
* Each program is designed to work for 15 minutes. As each session is quite exhaustive, it is not recommended to have more than two sessions of 15-minute each on any one day.
* It’s good to have a glass of warm water at the end of the massage. As a matter of fact it’s good at the end of any kind of massage. It is believed to help flushing of toxins.
* To prevent the machine from getting overheated, let it rest at the end of every fifteen minutes cycle.

The Negative

One feature that could discourage buyers from opting for uSqueez is its weight of 24 Kg. Now, that kind of weight is no fun when you are in mood to use the machine, unless it’s permanently stored in an appropriate place in your room. However, it’s distinctive feature is that you can roll it down to use as good looking leg rest when not in use.

On using the Internet to search for this equipment, you’ll find two names for the product, namely: uSqueez Warm and uSqueez Pro and may wonder what the difference between the two is. Surprisingly, there is none! One of the staff members at a Singapore OSIM retail shop informs that in the beginning the product was sold as the uSqueez Pro. Subsequently, its name was altered to convey an exclusive feature of the product and that’s its heat therapy utility.

01 Dec 09 Thera Cane Massager

As is already known to many people, the Thera Cane is simply a plain bar that is easy to hold in many different ways so as to apply pressure on specific points of your neck, back and shoulders etc in a very natural manner. The otherwise difficult to reach area can be approached with this simple device.

This well designed device comes with a manual that offers possible suggestions for holding the cane to establish the desired contact with different areas of the body. Once you have understood the basics as provided in the manual, you can try your hand to allow the cane to explore the far-reaching pain areas for getting relief.

While you use one arm as a pivot, the other may be used as a lever to pull-push the cane to reach most of the trigger points in the upper or mid back region. One may lean back on the Thera Cane, keeping it pinned against the seatback while working on the computer. In such a position your arms won’t be working much and only stabilize the cane as the weight of your upper body (while sitting back) offers the needed force for working on a trigger point or such an area.

In my case the Thera Cane has indeed offered me an ability of self-help. Ever since I started using it to take care of my chronic back pain, it has offered me a couple of important things that I narrate here:

1. Working on my trigger points in between my therapy sessions has been able to help me cutting on the prescribed drugs. Generally, I use the cane before taking medication when the pain flares up and the result is that pain is reduced considerably, enabling me to continue with my normal activities.

2. It helps me to classify locations of new or still-prominent trigger points before my forthcoming visit to the Physical Therapist.

3. Contrary to my own expectations, I feel more confident in better managing my present condition than before I started using the Thera Cane. That’s not to say that exercising or stretching is no good, but all those have their own plus features coupled with certain limitations. Here is a simple device that enables you to help yourself.

During my regular visits to friends and relatives, I carry the cane with me so that I can continue with my regimen of exercises with it. No body ever seemed bothered about my lifestyle. On the contrary, people have been appreciative of my efforts of learning to cope with my physical limitations and my attitude of taking self-help for myself.
