I have a confession to make here. I was troubled by problems associated with my back and I lack the means of providing the much needed back massage. for myself. I know what needs to be done and I could adjust the movements of my hand or finger accordingly to provide that desired relief. Unfortunately I lack that sense of touch that massage therapists are blessed with and I get tired of holding my arm in that weird way. So I carried a long tiring research on massage chairs and was rewarded for my efforts in the form of the Human Touch massage chair line.
Human Touch has continued to be in business for nearly 30 years. This is the one robotic massage chair that has been tested and acknowledged by the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists as a suitable supplement to back-care therapies.
It was in 1979 that the company introduced its massage products and in 1985 they came out with the Human Touch massage chair. It was a ground breaking idea. This was the first robotic massage chair that incorporated a contoured tracking system designed to follow the S-curve of the spine. This was followed by the introduction of a computer controlled multifunctional massage system in 1987. Further innovations enabled them to set industry standards by 90’s with quad-roller technology. Human Touch is the outcome of their research and development efforts in the fields of massage therapy, stress management, orthopedic and chiropractic medicine. No wonder that the medical profession acknowledges their massage technology and products by incorporating those along with other treatments for spinal disorders and back pain.
The technology involved with The Human Touch massage chair very much follows the massage techniques practiced by professionals taking care of spinal and back disorders. These include:
*Compression: It gives the feeling of hands being pushed firmly on the muscles around the spine with an inward thrust on the spine.
*Kneading: Here the thumbs are firmly pressed down on either side of the spine while moving in a circulatory manner.
*Rolling: This simply comprises of gentle motion of pressing firmly on either side of the spine alternately. This loosens the muscles and prepares them for a further deep massage. It provides an excellent means of relieving tension.
*Percussion; It feels like fists quickly tapping on back muscles. Now, that’s the technique which I too can easily follow and consider it a good way of revitalizing the entire back.
It will not be out of place to add here that a Human Touch massage chair offers a whole body experience. It not only massages your back but calves and feet too. The calf massage that it provides extends from the ankles and goes up to the knees, thus improving circulation of blood by making it move upwards from the ankle to the knee. It is quite prompting for a beginner.
The description would be incomplete without a mention of the foot massager very appropriately placed at the foot of the Human Touch massage chair. It gently squeezes your feet to bring relief by facilitating increased circulation of blood.
And finally, these chairs come in very cool designs. You would wonder how the calf and foot massager works. Certain models of Human Touch massage chair allow the chairs to recline. It means that the calf/foot massager can be pushed under the chair so that the chair appears like a normal recliner when in an upright position but on being in an inclined position it pops up and may be rotated to approach the calf and foot massager.
Need I be hesitant to confess that Human Touch massage chair holds my future, not only would it offer a great therapy for my husband’s back, but it would benefit our marriage too!
